Today, July 11th we learned that Arturo Gatti, legendary two time world champion boxer and super star character in the 'Fight Night' series has past away.

Apparently, Mr. Gatti was on vacation in Brazil, when he was found dead in his hotel room. There is little information on the events surrounding the death at this time, but we will be sure to keep you informed as news unfolds.
It is at this time that we would like to move Arturo Gatti from a great fighter, to the hall of fame, among some of the greats like Evander Holyfield, Muhamid Ali and Joe Frasier, only slightly smaller in weight of course. We will miss you, but know that your memory will live on in our hearts, and our Playstation's, for years to come.
UPDATE: Brazilian authorities detained the wife of former boxing champion Arturo Gatti and formally accused her Sunday of killing him at a posh seaside tourist resort in Brazil.
According to authorities, Gatti was strangled with the strap of a purse, and when his 23 year old wife was questioned, her story didn't match up. She denies all charges, and prosecutors will determine if she will be charged in the near future after all autopsy results are in.
Witnesses state that the couple had been arguing, and Arturo was apparently drunk. His wife claims he had pushed her to the floor during an argument, and states she thinks a witness committed the crime after seeing him act the way he was.
A close friend of Gatti, 4-time world champion boxer, Acelino "Popo" Freitas stated he knew the couple were going through some issues, and that they planned to separate after a month stay in Brazil.
We shed a tear for our fallen hero, and pray that he may find happiness in heaven.
